1950s Wool 3/4 Sleeve Dress by La Shack in Locust Valley, NY

Just the color of this dress makes me smile! Made by La Shack in Locust Valley, NY, this robin egg blue, wool dress is a darling. It’s simple, fitted design is brought to life with the lovely grosgrain ribbon flowers around the neckline. The three quarter length dolman sleeves and the hem just below the knee give perfect proportions to this silhouette. The wool has a backing on it that feels smooth on the skin even without a slip and prevents it from riding up when worn. Unfortunately, the wool fabric does have pin holes from improper storage over the years. There is only one tiny hole that goes through the wool and the lining (top, back of left shoulder). I have included some photos to show the damage, which wouldn’t really stop me from wearing this gem out on the town. Otherwise, the dress is in great vintage condition.
